Self Branding: The Art of Being Irresistible

So I was talking to a friend over the weekend and he said something striking he said "Maggie nobody can ignore me" with emphasis on nobody whosoever. Now this statement to some may seem arrogant and egoistic but to me, it was a level he had placed himself, he had worked on himself, discovered himself, developed himself to the point of knowing that he didn’t have to be the heir to the white house to be irresistible.

He had branded himself. For the fact that I was listening to him actually shows he is not one to be ignored so easily. Now this is not rocket science as I will be sharing some hints with you as to how to get that attention you desire and keep it.

We are in an era where looks count for nothing without brains, skills, style and composure. Ever wondered why peak milk falls second to none? Irrespective of the competition from Dano, Lahda and the rest?

Irrespective of the economy and the market flip flops? BRANDING!!! peak has set itself in such a way that even if it's not your first choice it doesn’t affect it in anyway because there are a thousand others who recognizes its value.

This also applies to you as a person because before you can brand your business you must have branded yourself by keeping yourself at the level you want to be or better still in that direction while attracting the right audience or clientele.

 Some Steps to Follow:

 1) Discover and Define Yourself:

This is a process of self discovery, calling yourself what you want to be called and knowing what works for you, this encompasses research, study, knowing a bit of about any topic raised, personal development and emotional intelligence, creating your personal and unique style. You don’t have to be a celebrity to do this.

Do your home work before taking action, in other words be specific and articulate about your goals and aspirations.

 2) Focus on your Attribute:

Now these are those qualities and characters that make you authentic and irresistible. Be passionate about them but not lousy. Mind you people always push to hear what you have to say when you are not always the first to want to be heard or worse still the only one to be heard without listening.

Don’t struggle to be heard, be flexible to criticism and change. This will only help in grooming your attributes. Remember a gold fish has no hiding place.

 3) Sieve your Attention server:

This is very vital both in your personal life and business packaging. Who do you want to know what, when and how? You determine the kind of attention you get by the way you carry yourself and the places you go to.

For instance you are into clothing and fashion and desires to be the celebrities stylist and supplier you ought to find yourself among that circle, attending functions and making contacts while building your A list clientele one after the other not sitting around in your neighborhood and fashion policing ordinary people.

Same thing applies to your personal life, you mustn't be found everywhere, not every invitation is for your presence. Be found in the places that house the calibre of people you don’t mind having in your life.

 4) Be Yourself:

Trust me nothing is as sexy as being comfortable in your own skin. Don’t be afraid to be different, people don’t want what every one can have. This also applies to your business; be able to adapt and adjust when necessary, knowing not to be too hard on yourself when you don’t succeed at something.

You are no superhuman! Be yourself but avoid the cliché of predictability keeping in mind your personal branding communicates your value to the world.

Now knowing and understanding competition is very essential to your business branding and growth but competition doesn’t apply to your personal development as the only person you should be aiming at being better than is who you were yesterday.

Remember you are your own brand!
